What It Does

Plenty of businesses sell without a shop platform — a Stripe Payment Link on a Framer or Webflow site, an invoice, a booking page, a checkout embedded in a custom build. Stripe takes the money and captures the delivery address, but getting that parcel booked with DPD is still a copy-and-paste job.

This integration closes that gap. We read your completed Stripe payments and book each one as a consignment in your DPD account through DPD’s official API — on your chosen service, with the tracking number issued at booking and the label ready to print.

  • Paid Stripe orders booked as DPD consignments automatically
  • Only new, paid orders are booked — never duplicates
  • Delivery address, contact details and line items carried across
  • DPD tracking number issued at booking, not after printing
  • Your choice of DPD service as the default — Next Day, Two Day, by 12:00, by 10:30, Saturday and international
  • DPD’s own delivery notifications reach your customer using the details Stripe captured
  • Works with Stripe Checkout, Payment Links and your own integration — no shop platform required
  • Uses your own DPD account login, held encrypted on our side

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the cost to run this?

£6.99 per month after a free first month. That covers the integration itself, ongoing updates and support — no per-order or per-label fees on top. DPD's own carriage charges are billed to your DPD account as normal.

Does this work if I don't have a shop platform at all?

Yes — that's exactly what it's for. If you sell through Stripe Payment Links, an invoice, a booking form or a checkout built into your own site, you have orders but no shipping system. This gives you one without moving to Shopify or WooCommerce.

What do you need from my Stripe account?

Read-only access, authorised from your own Stripe dashboard and revocable by you at any time. It cannot move money, issue refunds or change anything in your account — it only reads completed payments. We walk you through it at setup.

What do you need from my DPD account?

Your MyDPD username, password and account number — the same login you use to book parcels on DPD's site. We provide a secure form for this at setup; the details are encrypted and used only to book consignments on your behalf. DPD's API uses this account login rather than an API key, so a key from a third-party shipping platform won't work here.

Does Stripe capture delivery addresses?

Only if you've asked it to. In Stripe Checkout and Payment Links there's a shipping-address collection setting that needs to be switched on. If it's off, Stripe has no address to give us and there's nothing to book. It's a two-minute change and we check it as part of setup — but orders taken before it was enabled can't be recovered.

Which DPD service will my orders use?

You choose a default at setup — DPD Next Day, Two Day, by 12:00, by 10:30, Saturday, and DPD's international services are all supported. Every order books on that service. If you change your mind later it's a one-line change on our side — just tell us.

How are parcel weights handled?

Stripe doesn't hold product weights, so we set a default weight per item at setup and multiply it by the quantity ordered. We agree that figure with you based on what you sell, and it can be adjusted any time. DPD has a maximum weight per parcel; very heavy orders above it are flagged for you to book manually rather than sent and rejected.

Will my customer get tracking updates?

Yes. DPD sends its own delivery notifications — the one-hour delivery window, driver updates and so on — to the email address and mobile number Stripe captured at checkout, so your customer hears from DPD without you doing anything.

What about subscription payments and invoices?

We focus on one-off purchases that need shipping. If you run subscriptions that send physical goods on a recurring basis, tell us during onboarding — it's supportable, but we'd agree the rules with you first so renewals don't generate unwanted consignments.

What kind of support comes with the monthly fee?

Stripe and DPD both change their systems from time to time. We monitor those changes, patch the integration when needed, and answer questions over email or a scheduled call — all included in the subscription.

How does cancellation work?

You can cancel any time with 30 days' notice. The integration carries on running during the notice period and then stops — without an active subscription, it won't continue to book.

Do you take on other Stripe development work?

Yes — we regularly connect Stripe to accounting tools, CRMs, fulfilment systems and bespoke dashboards. Get in touch and tell us what you're trying to build.

Who are Receptive?
