Receptive Headless Commerce is a full ecommerce backend that lives on our servers and serves your products to your Framer or WordPress site via a clean JSON API. You get a real database, real Stripe payments straight into your own Stripe account, and real Royal Mail or DPD parcel shipping — without having to bolt on Shopify or hand your customer data to a third-party basket widget.

You also pay standard Stripe fees on transactions (around 1.5% + 20p for UK cards), but that goes directly to Stripe, not to us. The platform fee is a flat £6.99 regardless of order volume — we don't take a cut of your sales.
Yes. Receptive Headless Commerce is a backend that serves data over a JSON API; your existing Framer or WordPress site embeds it via our plugin.
For Framer: install the Receptive plugin in your Framer project, paste your API key, drop the cart and checkout components into your design.
For WordPress: install the Receptive Commerce plugin, paste your API key, drag the Product Card / Cart / Checkout blocks onto any page in Gutenberg.
You don't need a separate storefront subdomain or a Shopify Buy Button. Everything renders inside your site.
Stripe handles payments via Stripe Connect Standard. Customers pay through Stripe Checkout (PCI-compliant, branded for your store); the money lands directly in your Stripe account, not ours. You manage payouts, refunds, and disputes from your Stripe dashboard exactly as you would for any other Stripe-powered site.
We never touch the money. We can’t freeze your account, change your payout schedule, or charge a per-transaction platform fee — this is a flat £6.99/mo SaaS, not a marketplace.
This is the part most headless platforms skip. We don’t.
When a customer pays, the order automatically flows into our Royal Mail Click & Drop or DPD UK pipeline (you choose which carrier per project, or per shipping rate). Labels are generated, tracking numbers are written back onto your order record, and the customer is emailed a tracking link.
You configure shipping zones (UK by default; international on request) and rates (RM Tracked 24, DPD Next Day, Free over £X, etc.) from the admin. We use the same shipping infrastructure that already handles thousands of Wix and WooCommerce parcels for Receptive customers.
Yes. Cancel from your Stripe customer portal at any time during the trial — you won’t be charged. After the trial, you can cancel any month-end and pay only that month’s £6.99. Your data is exportable; you walk away with it.
For Framer: no — the plugin gives you drag-and-drop product picker, cart drawer, and checkout components. If you can use Framer, you can use this.
For WordPress: no — the blocks work like any other Gutenberg blocks. Drag onto a page.
If you want to go deeper (custom product pages, integration with your own front-end code), the JSON API is documented and reachable from any fetch() call. Most customers never need to.
After you subscribe, we provision your project, operator login, and API key automatically. You’ll receive a welcome email with your admin login URL and your API key.
You can be uploading products in your new admin within minutes of subscribing. Connecting Stripe (so you can take payment) is a one-click flow from inside the admin. Adding the Framer or WordPress plugin to your site is a copy-paste of your API key.
Personal setup support is included if you get stuck — we’re a small team and we read every email.
Email support is included with every subscription — reply to your welcome email and you reach Ben directly. We aim to reply within 24 hours.
The first cohort of customers also gets personal onboarding: a quick screen-share if you want help setting up Stripe, importing your first products, or wiring the Framer plugin into your design. There’s no separate “onboarding fee” — this is just part of the launch.
We’re a small development company with offices in Cardiff and Cheltenham, UK. Our registered company name is Receptive Ltd, led by Ben Johnson, who has over 20 years of experience in web development and eCommerce.
We already operate Royal Mail and DPD shipping integrations for thousands of orders a month across Wix, WooCommerce, Squarespace, Square, and Magento merchants. Headless Commerce is the natural next product — bringing the same fulfilment rails to Framer and WordPress designers who want a real store without bolting on Shopify.
